We are currently looking for a full time Courier for our Miramar, FL laboratory. This position is eligible for the following benefits: medical, vision and dental insurance; 401(k) plan with up top 4% company match; PTO, 8 hours Floating Holiday, 7 paid Holidays. Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, AS or BS science or engineering degree or technical certificate preferred, but not required. Valid drivers license and clean record including clean criminal history. AEL performs background checks on all hires.

Courier Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to requests to pick up or deliver samples or supplies
- Follow specific sample transporting procedures given by the facility
- Responsible for picking up and transporting hazardous materials
- Complete documentation for accurate record of travel and client visits
- Maintain vehicle in clean and safe condition
- Must comply with safety driving regulations in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
- Plan trips for effective use of time to meet client needs
- Disposes of materials in accordance with established company procedures
- Update management on maintenance needs for vehicle
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Act as liaison between clients and lab staff
- Remain compliant with all driver procedures, certifications, and AEL company driver policies
- Communicate with the lab leads to ensure samples are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner
- Keep track of mileage and gasoline
- Other job duties as determined by local management
- Maintain a professional appearance with AEL shirt/hat
Summary:
Daily travel is required to conduct on-site field testing and data collection for water, soil, and waste sampling per FDEP procedures. Also responsible for client sample pick-ups and client sample and kit deliveries to and from client offices and project locations. No experience necessary, but individuals with a background in or related to environmental response/sample collection work fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
This position has Physical Requirements: A field technician will be consistently standing or walking, bending, crouching or stooping, climbing ladders and/or stairs, frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to distinguish between shades of color.
Abilities and skills required:
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to obtain a DOT medical certification. Good driving records and ability to maintain good records.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including overtime (occasional nights and weekends as needed)
- Willing to travel including (All travel is company paid)
- Capable of lifting at least 75 pounds.
- Capable of climbing (ladders and stairs)
- Mechanically inclined; capable of learning and working on instrumentation and other testing equipment
- Enjoy challenges in continuously changing work environments
