Full Job Description

Human Trafficking Advocate

Hours: 40 Hour Week – Full Time

The Human Trafficking Advocate provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered support to individuals impacted by sex and labor trafficking. This position is responsible for delivering direct advocacy, crisis response, and system navigation for trafficking survivors in residential (shelter) settings. The advocate also serves as a subject-matter resource for the agency, supporting staff through training, collaboration, and consultation to ensure best-practice approaches for this unique population.

Duties:

1. Provide direct client advocacy services to shelter-based victims of human trafficking, including assessing needs, making referrals, and safety planning.

2. Collaborate with shelter staff to coordinate supportive services and ensure comprehensive, trauma-informed care for clients.

3. Assist with developing and implementing individualized service plans in partnership with shelter residents.

4. Serve as a subject-matter resource for human trafficking-related services within the agency.

5. Support the development and maintenance of agency-wide training and resources related to human trafficking.

6. Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of services and client interactions in accordance with CCC policy and funding requirements.

7. Participate in case staffings, team meetings, and interagency collaboration to enhance continuity of care.

8. Engage in professional development and continuing education related to best practices in serving human trafficking survivors.

9. Ensure compliance with all applicable grant, certification, and policy standards.

10. Attend CCC meetings, trainings, and other required staff functions.

11. Perform other duties as assigned in support of agency mission and shelter operations.

Philosophy of Work:

2. Implement client guidelines in a trauma informed manner unless a matter of security is involved and to report to management

3. Cooperative team spirit, have strong personal boundaries, supportive attitude, and desire to help people.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Experience in residential or high-acuity settings preferred.

· Understanding and sensitivity toward domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and chemical dependency.

· Advanced training in trafficking dynamics, trauma-informed care, or victim advocacy preferred.

· Strong boundaries, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and time management skills.

· Proficient computer and documentation skills.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented.

· Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively under pressure.

· Demonstrated skill in navigating community resources and referrals.

· Must pass a national-level criminal background check.

· Ability to work effectively with clients across diverse ages and backgrounds.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
