About the Role
MOSIDA is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and sales-driven Gift Shop & Print Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our museum gift shop and on-site print shop.
This is a critical customer-facing and operational position. Our gift and print shops are an important extension of the MOSIDA visitor experience. Guests will have opportunities to purchase personalized artwork, prints, apparel, souvenirs, and other creative products connected to their museum experience.
We are looking for someone who can combine excellent customer service, strong sales and upselling ability, inventory management, and hands-on operational leadership.
The ideal candidate doesn't simply wait for customers to make purchases. You should enjoy talking with guests, understanding what they are interested in, recommending products, and turning a great museum experience into something memorable they can take home.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Upselling
- Actively engage with visitors and introduce gift shop and personalized print products.
- Recommend products based on each visitor's experience and interests.
- Develop natural, friendly upselling and cross-selling techniques.
- Train and coach staff on sales techniques, product recommendations, and customer engagement.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase average transaction value and conversion.
- Help develop product bundles, promotions, displays, and other strategies to increase revenue.
- Maintain a sales-focused culture without creating a high-pressure customer experience.
Customer Experience
- Deliver warm, enthusiastic, and professional customer service.
- Help visitors select the right products, sizes, print formats, and personalization options.
- Handle customer questions, special requests, complaints, refunds, and order issues professionally.
- Ensure the gift and print shops feel like an exciting final part of the MOSIDA experience rather than simply a checkout area.
- Maintain high standards for presentation, cleanliness, organization, and customer flow.
Print Shop Operations
- Oversee daily production of personalized prints, posters, stickers, apparel, and other products offered by MOSIDA.
- Manage the workflow from customer order through production, quality control, packaging, and pickup.
- Prioritize orders to ensure fast and accurate turnaround.
- Ensure customer names, artwork, sizes, quantities, and other order details are correct before production.
- Perform final quality-control checks before products are delivered to customers.
- Coordinate basic equipment maintenance and communicate technical issues promptly.
- Minimize printing errors, material waste, reprints, and production delays.
Gift Shop Operations
- Oversee opening, closing, merchandising, organization, and daily operation of the gift shop.
- Ensure merchandise is attractive, organized, properly priced, and fully stocked.
- Identify best-selling and slow-moving merchandise.
- Recommend new products, pricing adjustments, promotions, and merchandising improvements.
- Maintain accurate POS procedures and cash-handling standards.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Maintain accurate inventory for merchandise, printing materials, apparel blanks, paper, ink, packaging, and other supplies.
- Establish appropriate minimum stock and reorder levels.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Place or coordinate purchase orders and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor product costs, waste, shrinkage, and gross margins.
- Help management identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Ensure popular products and critical printing materials remain in stock during busy periods.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate gift shop and print shop employees.
- Assign responsibilities based on customer traffic and production workload.
- Train employees on customer service, POS procedures, product knowledge, upselling, equipment operation, order accuracy, and safety.
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
- Step in personally during busy periods to assist customers, operate equipment, fulfill orders, or solve problems.
- Work closely with museum management, visitor services, marketing, events, and technical teams.

- Strong retail, hospitality, customer service, or similar customer-facing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to sell, upsell, and recommend products in a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong operational and organizational skills.
- Experience managing inventory and maintaining accurate stock levels.

- Ability to lead, train, and motivate employees.

- Comfortable learning POS systems, printing equipment, and new technology.

- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in retail, hospitality, attractions, entertainment, printing, or personalized products.
- Experience working in a print shop, photo shop, sign shop, apparel printing business, or personalized merchandise operation.
- Experience with large-format printing, stickers, apparel printing, photo printing, or similar production equipment.
- Experience managing retail KPIs such as sales conversion, average transaction value, inventory turnover, gross margin, and shrinkage.
- Experience working in museums, attractions, theme parks, entertainment venues, or other high-volume visitor environments.
