About International Art Project
International Art Project is a nonprofit built around a simple idea: art can do more.
We connect fine art with tangible impact, creating ways for artists, collectors, institutions, and communities to participate in something larger. Through exhibitions, acquisitions, donated works, and artist collaborations, IAP turns engagement with art into resources for real projects on the ground, including clean water, education, economic opportunity, support for children and families, and environmental restoration.
Those projects are carried out by vetted nonprofit partners. Then we document what happened, where the money went, and the impact created.
Art in. Impact out.
The Role
We are hiring a Gallery Manager to take ownership of our Miami Beach gallery.
This is not a passive gallery-coverage position. You will help shape exhibitions, develop relationships with collectors and artists, generate sales, steward artwork, manage the gallery’s systems and records, and hold the space to a professional standard that reflects the artists who trust us with their work.
We are a small organization moving quickly. We are building our presence in Miami, developing the Emerging Artists for Impact Award during Miami Art Week, expanding our artist and nonprofit partnerships, and working toward a permanent Art and Impact Cultural Center.
The person who takes this role will help shape what that becomes.
If you want to build something, this is the job. If you want a quiet front desk, it is not.
What You Will Own
Exhibitions and curation. Develop and install thoughtful exhibitions and artwork rotations approximately every two months. Propose artists and concepts. Coordinate artwork selections, pricing, labels, installation, exhibition materials, and documentation.
Sales and collectors. Speak confidently about the work. Build relationships with collectors, prospective collectors, patrons, and visitors. Follow up on opportunities and close sales. Help expand IAP’s presence within Miami’s art and cultural community.
Artwork stewardship. Serve as the on-site steward for artwork in IAP’s custody, including condition, handling, storage, movement, installation, and accurate institutional records.
Systems and records. Keep artwork, sales, and relationship information accurate across Artwork Archive, Square, Donorbox, and other organizational systems. Knowing where something is does not replace documenting it.
Gallery operations. Open and close the gallery. Keep the space pristine, secure, organized, and visitor-ready. Identify problems early and take responsibility for getting them resolved.
Events and programming. Support openings, artist talks, Impact Evenings, donor events, nonprofit collaborations, collector appointments, and Miami Art Week programming. Coordinate interns and fellows assigned to gallery activities.
