ABOUT THE POSITION
MB1 is seeking a dependable and personable Employee Wellness Specialist to support an established workplace wellness program at a partner location in Broward County.
This hands-on, on-site position focuses on assisting employees with wellness services, fitness-related activities, equipment, and daily program responsibilities.
The position will initially provide approximately 24–30 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand to full-time based on program needs and the employee’s availability.
The ideal candidate has a background in exercise science or a related field, holds a recognized fitness-training certification, and can work independently while following established procedures.

The selected individual will become part of the MB1 brand and team—not simply fill hours at one location. Team members may be considered for additional opportunities involving other MB1 programs, workplace wellness contracts, special events, workshops, community initiatives, and internal projects.
Additional hours and opportunities are not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance, reliability, qualifications, availability, and MB1’s organizational needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain consistent and punctual coverage during assigned working hours
- Welcome employees and explain available wellness services
- Assist employees with fitness and wellness equipment, activities, and technology
- Facilitate approved individual and small-group wellness activities
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and safe equipment use
- Provide general exercise guidance within the scope of the employee’s certification
- Help employees schedule and participate in available services
- Set up, clean, organize, and store equipment and materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional wellness environment
- Record attendance, participation, appointments, and completed activities
- Complete daily and weekly activity reports
- Monitor supplies and report equipment or inventory needs
- Share operational concerns with MB1 management
- Support workplace wellness events and special activities
- Protect participant privacy and maintain professional boundaries
- Follow all MB1 policies and partner-site procedures
- Perform additional wellness-support duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational or professional background in exercise science, kinesiology, health promotion, fitness, physical education, athletic training, or a closely related field
- Current personal-training, strength and conditioning, fitness, or exercise-related certification from a recognized certifying organization
- Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain it before beginning the position
- Working knowledge of basic exercise principles, proper technique, and safe equipment use
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Basic proficiency with email, tablets, digital forms, spreadsheets, and scheduling platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Reliable transportation to the assigned Broward County location
- Ability to meet all background-screening, identification, security, and site-access requirements
- Willingness to complete all required MB1 training
- Availability to work approximately 24–30 hours per week
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health promotion, fitness, physical education, athletic training, or a related field
- At least one year of experience in fitness, workplace wellness, recreation, health promotion, or another people-facing position
- Experience assisting individuals with exercise equipment and wellness activities
- Experience facilitating individual or small-group activities
- Experience working in a structured workplace, corporate wellness, government, or public-safety environment
- Flexibility to accept additional hours as program needs expand
- Interest in growing professionally as part of the MB1 team
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
The Employee Wellness Specialist is expected to:
- Arrive on time and remain available throughout assigned hours
- Follow MB1’s established programs and procedures
- Communicate absences and scheduling concerns promptly
- Complete all required records accurately and on time

- Work cooperatively as part of the broader MB1 team
- Respond appropriately to feedback and supervision
- Work within the professional scope of their education and certification
- Refer medical, clinical, safety, or personnel concerns to management
- Avoid providing medical advice, diagnoses, treatment, counseling, or services outside the position’s assigned responsibilities
PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to:
- Work in an active, in-person professional environment
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the assigned work area
- Demonstrate basic exercises and proper equipment use
- Set up and transport fitness equipment and program materials
- Operate computers, tablets, and wellness-related technology
- Occasionally support special events or adjusted schedules with advance notice
COMPENSATION AND HOURS
- Starting pay of $19.50 per hour
- Approximately 24–30 hours per week
- Opportunity to expand to full-time based on program needs and employee availability
- Performance evaluation after the first 90 days
- Future pay increases may be considered based on attendance, reliability, performance, documentation, and organizational needs
