Overview

Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Medical Technician/Resident Caregiver, where your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents in senior living and healthcare facilities. This vital role combines hands-on patient care with medical support, ensuring residents receive respectful, personalized assistance that promotes their health, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a dynamic, supportive environment that values your skills and commitment. Paid positions are available, emphasizing our commitment to recognizing the vital contributions of every team member.

Responsibilities

-Assists residents with activities of daily living. The following are unique to this position:

Assists residents with bathing, hair care, mouth care, nail care, dressing, et cetera.
Assists residents with ambulation, which includes reminding and supporting.
Assists and encourages residents to eat and take sufficient fluids and snacks.
Assists residents with turning, repositioning, toileting, and personal hygiene (includes monitoring of bowel and bladder incontinence).
Observes and reports resident behavior and condition changes—including weight change and signs of injury or neglect.
Participates in or leads leisure activities as planned by Activities Coordinator.
Assists and reminds residents to participate in facility activities.
Assists with all aspects of kitchen and dining room tasks associated with resident meals, including prep work, serving, cleaning up, setting tables, taking out trash, et cetera.
Performs general housekeeping/laundry tasks and related duties.

-Interacts with families and participates in facility or community activities

-Assists with ensuring a safe environment for residents, families, and co-workers.

-Aware of performance improvement plan and quality initiatives being measured at facility.

-Participates in data collection and performance improvement reporting processes, as assigned.

-Attends educational in-services.

-Maintains ethical standards.

-Displays a caring, respectful attitude when addressing residents, family members, and co-workers.

-Ensures confidentiality of resident health information in accordance with HIPAA.

-Compliant with attendance policy.

-Attends scheduled staff meetings.

-Support, reinforce, communicate, and defend the mission, vision, values, philosophy and culture of the organization.

General Requirements

- Position reports to Resident Care Manager or Administrator

-Must be able to participate in one-person and two-person transfers/lifts and change resident position to accommodate resident mobility needs.

-Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

-High School diploma or GED required, CMA or CNA preferred.

-Experience working with and caring for the elderly population preferred.

-Strong written and communication skills.
