Summary:
Assist the Torque Ring department in installation and monitoring while following all Torque Ring policies and procedures.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform work in a professional and safe manner, report unsafe work practices.
- Be there with your Lead and/or Supervisor and PRT Dispatcher prior to leaving the facility to discuss all aspects of the job and to ensure that all the job objectives can be achieved with the specific equipment and personnel that are slated for the job.
- Ensure all equipment has been loaded and documented for the job you are going to perform before leaving the shop.
- Assist your Lead and/or Supervisor during installation and/or monitor operations.
- Return equipment/torque rings after the job is complete.
- Pay close attention to specific needs of equipment/torque rings needed for installation and/or monitors.
- Keep accurate and detailed paperwork pertaining to torque ring installation and/or monitors.
- Assist coworker with any duties as needed.
- Maintain focus during torque ring monitors for several hours without fatigue.
- Report all incidents to PTR, drilling rig, and company personnel.
- Maintain the highest level of quality.
- Load and unload torque rings safely.
- Keep accurate inventory of torque rings and be ready to perform spot/full inventories when requested.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance of all company policies, rules, and procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Work rotational board and be available 24 hours for job callouts while staying in contact with Dispatch and coworkers.
- Comply with classes needed for safety.
- Attend PTR compliance classes as well as monthly safety meeting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge
- Hands-on physical type work
- Basic computer and math skills
- Good communication and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify shoulder and final torque on graph
- Ability to work independently while on duty
- Ability to identify all different torque ring sizes, weights, and threads.
- Ability to tell the difference between an acceptable graph and an unacceptable graph when working with torque control.
- Ability to define the following: Delta Torque, Shoulder Torque, Optimum, Maximum and Minimum Torque, J-Space,Make up loss, pin face, final measurement, BTC, LTC
- Valid drivers license
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- 2-3 years of field service experience.
