Job Title: Communications, Media & Brand Coordinator

Location: Horizons Conference Center

Reports To: Vice President

HORIZONS Conference Center is Mid-Michigan’s premier full-service event center. Our mission is to provide our guests the ultimate HORIZONS experience through hospitality, excellent service, superior presentation and outstanding quality. Since opening our doors in 1996, we have built a reputation for delivering the highest level of service with a personal touch, which we call the Art of Hospitality. At every level of our organization, our people are passionate about hospitality and delight in creating distinctive, memorable experiences. The HORIZONS Family of Businesses includes a diverse portfolio of hospitality, food service, catering , bakery and event businesses throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.

HORIZONS Conference Center is seeking an energetic storyteller, content creator and communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This person will help shape the public image of multiple hospitality brands through social media, media relations, photography, short-form video production and strategic communications. The Communications, Media & Brand Coordinator will lead our external communications and manage or consult on multiple social media accounts as well as supply support to the Vice President and Graphic Designer. The Communications, Media & Brand Coordinator should be knowledgeable and experienced with a variety of social media tools while having strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be driven by natural curiosity and be passionate about contributing to the work of the HORIZONS family of businesses.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience may be substituted for formal education.

· Minimum 2 years of professional experience in communications or marketing.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in managing social media accounts of professional organizations.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Applied understanding of marketing principles

· Creative problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently

· Proven ability to multi-task

· Ability to capture, edit and publish professional-quality photography and short-form video content for social media platforms.

Desired Qualifications:

· Experience and success in marketing strategy, graphic design, and digital marketing execution is desired. Experience with Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social). Experience utilizing AI-assisted marketing tools, social media scheduling platforms, analytics dashboards and content creation software is a plus. Experience in event coordination, lead generation and direct sales considered a bonus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Include The following:

· Organize data and create reports to assist in decision making.

· Create or consult on the social media strategy using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok YouTube & Google Business Profiles for multiple businesses.

· Draft, schedule and monitor social media activity for the HORIZONS Family of Businesses.

· Collect, review and organize image library.

· Attend events to capture photo and video content.

· Create and distribute press releases and engage the media in coverage for our events.

· Assist in creating social media policies, operating guides and templates.

· Support marketing campaign planning and execution.

· Assist in producing new marketing tactics and strategy for the HORIZONS Family of Businesses.

· Research the latest social media and digital marketing trends that would be beneficial to the HORIZONS Family of Businesses.

· Measure and report on the results of communication and social media initiatives.

· Assist and lead select internal and external events.

· Manage content calendar.

· Coordinate influencer partnerships.

· Monitor online reviews and reputation management.

· Assist with website content updates.

· Manage email marketing campaigns.

· Support lead & sales generation initiatives.

· Track earned media value and campaign performance.
