Job Title: Avionic Technician
Job Description
This hands-on Avionic Technician role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting avionics and aircraft electrical systems with minimal supervision in a service-focused environment. You will support the service department schedule to ensure aircraft are delivered on time, on budget, and squawk free, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities

Effectively troubleshoot and repair all avionics and electrical systems on aircraft with very little supervision.

Diagnose and resolve issues with systems such as autopilots, flight management systems, navigation and communication systems, EFIS, aircraft electrical systems, lighting, and pitot-static systems.

Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new electrical and avionics systems and stay current with evolving technologies.

Communicate work progress and status regularly to the department leadership to support accurate scheduling and customer updates.

Ensure all work performed is inspected by an authorized repair station inspector in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.

Complete all required paperwork daily in a concise, accurate, and legible manner, including work orders and documentation of repairs and inspections.

Notify department leadership of any problems or repairs that cannot be completed within a reasonable timeframe or where issues remain unresolved.

Report any discrepancies related to company tooling or equipment to the appropriate leader to ensure safe and effective operation.

Learn, understand, and follow the company work order and parts requisition processes as written, ensuring proper documentation and parts control.

Maintain a clean, neat, and efficient work area, supporting a safe and organized hangar environment.

Repair and calibrate shop equipment as assigned to ensure it remains in proper working condition.

Inspect avionics repairs and avionics modification work as necessary to confirm quality and compliance.

Support and assist with training Avionics Repair Technician Level 1 personnel, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Perform bench repair work on avionics components when required, depending on skill set and experience.

Carry out other related duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the service department.
Essential Skills
-
2–5 years of hands-on avionics experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
-
Experience working with aircraft electrical systems, including wiring, harnesses, and related components.

Practical experience with corporate aviation aircraft.

Experience with Garmin avionics systems.

Proficiency in troubleshooting avionics systems, including autopilots, flight management systems, navigation and communication systems, EFIS, lighting, and pitot-static systems.

Ability to perform avionics installations and modifications.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering squawk-free aircraft.

Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Effective communication skills to provide clear updates on work progress and issues.

Capability to work inside aircraft and in a hangar environment on various shifts.

Willingness to be tested and evaluated on experience from general aviation, commercial, or military backgrounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

FCC licensing (preferred).

Bench repair capabilities for avionics components (preferred).

Experience with general aviation or commercial aircraft (candidates with these backgrounds will be considered).

Military avionics experience (candidates with this experience will be tested and considered).

Ability to assist in training and mentoring junior avionics technicians.

Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient work area.

Comfort working with standard hand tools and specialized avionics tools as outlined in the tool list.

Interest in obtaining or maintaining additional aviation-related certifications (A&P support available for direct employees).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
