It is no secret that lives are changed forever at HEAR Wisconsin. Founded in 1926, a state-wide nonprofit providing comprehensive hearing healthcare, education, therapy, and support services for individuals of all ages. The only nonprofit organization of our kind in Wisconsin, each year HEAR Wisconsin provides critical services to thousands of individuals through its early intervention services, vocational rehabilitation services, assistive technology center, state-of-the-art audiology clinic and mobile unit. HEAR Wisconsin is dedicated to ensuring children and adults who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing can communicate, connect, and fully participate in the world around them.

HEAR Wisconsin has an exciting opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist or Re/habilitative Audiologist to provide therapy for children and their families who are deaf, culturally Deaf, or hard of hearing. The ideal candidate will positively add to our team of talented, energetic, mission-driven therapeutic service professionals.

Our team embraces the provision of informed parental choice and communication options and consists of highly qualified professionals including: LSLS certified practitioners, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, service coordinator and d/Deaf program assistants.

Exclusively focused hearing-loss-specific services for individuals with hearing differences include: family-focused, culturally-responsive, individualized early intervention, Auditory-Verbal Therapy, tele-intervention via our ConnectHEAR Program, speech-language therapy for all ages, toddler communication groups that include typically-hearing peers, pre- and post-cochlear implant therapy, specialized instruction, consultations, professional mentoring as well as agency-related programs, resources, and parent-to-parent events.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Provide all aspects of speech-language therapy and/or early intervention services to children with hearing differences in a natural environment, the home, or clinic setting

· Complete comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans and monitor ongoing progress

· Implement a parent-coaching model in all therapy sessions

· Prepare timely progress reports and maintain client file documentation as required by HEAR Wisconsin and funding sources

· Assist as needed in providing clinical supervision of graduate student practicum placements

· Assist transition planning and implementation for children transitioning into school programs

· Attend meetings as appropriate, including in-agency, Birth to 3 and community meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology from an accredited program

· American Speech, Language and Hearing Association Certificate (CCC)

· Qualifications for Wisconsin State Professional License

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary collaborative team

· Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and variety of communities

· Respect for cultural diversity, service and communication choices made by families

· Valid driver’s license and available transportation for travel in Southeastern Wisconsin

· Related professional experience preferred, however, strong CF candidates considered

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Three or more years of experience working with individuals who are d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Certification (AVT or AVEd), LSLS training or willingness and interest in learning
Proficiency in spoken/written Spanish
Proficiency in American Sign Language or willingness to learn
