AWT has the following position open in our Minneapolis, MN location:
The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, Hours are - 7am to 3:30pm. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Responsible for the following: file preparation for final output, including, but not limited to, trap, bleed, screen ruling, dot shape, line screen, correct assignment of colors, verifying size and creating dielines; typesetting, proofing, step and repeat, generating final .len files, plate making, file transfers, preflight, maintenance and all other duties associated with the smooth operation of the Prepress Department.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 90% of time):

On time, error free proof making and plate making as dictated by daily production schedule.

On time, accurate file manipulation of customer supplied artwork, file transfers, accurate time and materials charges in PSI.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):
-
Any other activities that relate to design and customer service as directed by supervisor.

Participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed the customer’s expectation.
Physical Job Demands:

Able to sit for extended periods of time working at desk/computer as needed.

Able to lift 50 lbs. to waist level without assistance (this applies to plate making only).
Skills/Abilities to Meet Job Requirements:

Good communication skills – professional written and verbal; knowledge of digital file manipulation.

Good Mac and PC skills.

Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Esko Software Suite including ArtPro+ and automated workflows.

Familiar with Adobe InDesign, PC Windows based software and PSI a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements:

High School diploma – OR equivalent GED.
-
Minimum 2-year Technical Vocational degree in Graphic Arts or Graphic Design.

2 years prepress experience in desk top publishing and/or plate making preferred.
