SafeWood Designs is looking for exceptional employees looking for opportunities to grow. SafeWood Designs is currently growing at nearly 500% per year while creating innovative products and garnering recent attention as a 2020 Minnesota Manufacturer of the Year, THAT SAVE LIVES!

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter specializing in woodworking to join our innovative design team. In this role, you will translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings and detailed schematics that guide the fabrication of custom woodwork and cabinetry. Your expertise will support our projects from initial design through construction, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and aesthetic excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-end residential, commercial, and bespoke woodworking projects with a focus on craftsmanship and precision.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD
Comprehensive schematics, system designs, and construction documents that facilitate seamless fabrication and installation processes.
Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, project managers, and carpenters to refine design details and ensure feasibility within construction parameters.
Prepare detailed drawings for custom cabinetry, furniture pieces, millwork components, and other wood-based structures aligned with project specifications.
Incorporate graphic design principles to enhance presentation quality of drawings and visualizations for client approvals.
Maintain organized records of all drafting files, revisions, and project documentation for efficient workflow management.

Qualifications

Proven experience in architectural drafting with a focus on woodworking or interior design projects.
Proficiency in CAD programs such as AutoCAD
Strong understanding of construction processes related to woodwork fabrication and system design.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles applicable to cabinetry and furniture systems.
Ability to produce detailed schematics and technical drawings that meet industry standards.
Experience with graphic design tools for presentation purposes is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
