Job Overview

Join our clinical team as a Post-Op Travel IV Nurse or Paramedic focused on cosmetic surgery recovery. This position directly supports patients’ healing after cosmetic procedures by delivering specialized post-operative care in diverse settings, including clinics, surgical centers, and home recovery visits across Broward and Miami-Dade. You will provide precise IV therapy, pain control, wound care, and smooth transitions from the surgical episode to full recovery, using your critical care skills in a cosmetic surgery context. A proactive, patient-centered approach helps patients regain comfort and confidence as quickly and safely as possible. Duties - Administer IV infusions, medications, and fluids with strict aseptic technique and safety protocols, tailored to cosmetic post-op needs. - Monitor vital signs, assess surgical sites, and adjust treatment plans to support optimal cosmetic outcomes and comfort. - Perform post-op procedures aligned with cosmetic recovery needs, such as wound care, drain care where applicable, dressing changes, and compression/support garment guidance, following best practices. - Manage and triage post-op symptoms (pain, nausea, swelling) and coordinate with the surgical team for timely interventions. - Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other clinicians to develop individualized cosmetic post-op care plans. - Support patients at home or in ambulatory settings, ensuring safe environment transitions and adherence to discharge instructions. - Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), maintaining HIPAA compliance. - Provide education on wound care, incision management, medication administration, mobility, and cosmetically relevant aftercare, including activity restrictions and signs of complications. - Maintain readiness for emergency response within scope of practice, including airway support or rapid transfer when needed. Experience - Robust background in critical care or acute post-operative care, with experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or ambulatory surgical settings. - Preference for experience in cosmetic surgery recovery (e.g., post-facelift, liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty) and related post-op care needs. - Familiarity with cosmetic surgery timelines, edema management, skin care, scar care, and patient education specific to aesthetic procedures. - Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those in outpatient or home-care settings. - Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic) and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding for accurate documentation. - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced emergency response or neonatal resuscitation credentials advantageous. Travel and Equipment - Travel requirement to cover Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Ability to travel as needed to multiple sites and patient homes. - Must bring and manage personal supplies and necessary clinical equipment for on-site post-op cosmetic care, ensuring readiness to treat patients across varied environments. - Strong organizational skills to stock, transport, and maintain supplies while complying with safety and infection-control standards. Characteristics - Excellent patient assessment abilities and a solid understanding of post-operative physiology and cosmetic-specific recovery needs. - Calm under pressure with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Compassionate, clear communicator who can educate patients and families about post-op care, signs of complication, and expected recovery milestones.
