Job Overview

I am seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant/Office Manager to join me in a solo law practice and real estate management position. . This pivotal role combines administrative excellence with legal support expertise, ensuring smooth office operations while providing vital assistance across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas and rental management. The ideal candidate will , demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and delivering outstanding client and customer service. This position offers an opportunity to develop your legal career while supporting the efficient functioning of our law firmand rental management business. I work part time as a lawyer and manage 10 rental properties. At present the bookkeeping operations are outsources. Additional pay may be available for “on call” issues with rental properties

Responsibilities

Manage daily office operations, including filing, document management, and maintaining legal support systems. .
Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and managing calendars.
Assist with legal drafting and preparation of documents and case management across several practice areas primarily real estate, civil litigation, and legal consulting.
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with accuracy, including grammar and punctuation, and professionalism.
Handle client communications with confidentiality and professionalism, including answering inquiries and coordinating interviews or meetings.
Support litigation processes by organizing case files, reviewing documents, and preparing materials for court proceedings..
Filing completed documents electronically with court systmen’s. .
Oversee office supplies inventory and coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth operational flow.
Effectively use computer skills in Word processing, Ai systems and excels Spreadsheets.
Maintain current rent tolls and document payment.
Prepare rental docs from forms
Interact with Zillow Rental manager.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal within a law office setting; familiarity with law office procedures is essential.
Previous experience in Real Estate and Litigation
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word(or WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook) along with familiarity with document management systems.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
Strong proofreading, transcription skills, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Experience supporting litigation cases from initial intake through trial preparation; familiarity with civil litigation procedures is advantageous.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

This part-time roll is expected to take 15-20 hours a week. Both the law office and rental Company and small operations.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Hattiesburg, MS 39401
