Neurodiagnostic Tech II
St. Louis Children's Hospital | Full-Time | Night Shift

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Tech II to join our team and support patients at our Level 4 Epilepsy Center. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced neurodiagnostic technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform a variety of EEG procedures, including routine inpatient and outpatient EEGs, ambulatory studies, long-term monitoring (LTM), SEEG, electrocorticography, and EEG telemetry.
- Accurately document and maintain patient records within the electronic medical record.
- Monitor study quality and ensure adherence to department standards and protocols.
- Assist with training and mentoring student technologists as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.
Schedule
- Full-Time, Night Shift
- 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every third weekend
- Rotating holiday schedule
- Limited on-call requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital-based neurodiagnostic experience
- Pediatric patient care experience
- Experience performing advanced EEG testing modalities

Role Purpose
Develops workflows, policies, and procedures related to new/changes to technology or services within Neurodiagnostic. Performs academic and routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic EEG testing procedures at both BJH and SLCH. Academic only procedures include long term video EEG set up & monitoring, electrocorticography, cortical stimulation mapping, routine and/or intra-operative somatosensory evoked potentials, and intra-operative EEG monitoring with/without robotics.
Responsibilities
- Develops workflows, policies, and procedures related to new/changes to technology or services. Provides direct/indirect procedural supervision for Tech I & student technologists.
- Evaluates/audits EEG quality, leading performance improvement initiatives using LEAN principles for obtaining the academic level standard of quality for EEG procedures. Performs electrode maintenance and impedance checks to ensure EEG quality. Performs EEG recording technology troubleshooting as needed and escalates appropriately.
- Performs long term video EEG set up & monitoring, electrocorticography, cortical stimulation mapping, routine and/or intra-operative somatosensory evoked potentials, and intra-operative EEG monitoring with/without robotics independently (academic locations only).
- Performs routine, extended, and ambulatory EEG recordings independently and at the highest levels of patient acuity. Analyzes live and delayed long term video EEG data independently and at the highest levels of patient acuity. Performs annotation and clipping of long-term video EEG data independently (academic locations only).
- Validates physician orders, enters relevant patient history information into the EEG recording system, enters long term video EEG set-up and disconnect notes into the electronic medical record. Enters procedure changes into the electronic billing system. Archives EEG testing data.
