Job description:

Global Rock Works is North America’s first rope-access-certified geohazard mitigation company, specializing in high-angle and remote access projects.

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 SPRAT and/or IRATA-certified professional to join our team. Our mission is to deliver safe, precise, and effective solutions while minimizing risk for our clients.

Experience Required:

Drilling & Installation

Minimum 2-3+ years operating pneumatic and hydraulic rock drills, including top hammer and down-the-hole (DTH) drills
Wagon drilling, plugger drilling, and hydraulic excavator drilling
Soil nail installation
Rock bolting, rock dowel installation, and cable lashing
Experience operating a grout plant (preferred)

Rockfall Mitigation

Hand scaling and mechanical scaling
Rockfall attenuator installation
Rockfall barrier and debris flow barrier installation
Draped mesh installation

Specialized

Rotating Telehandler experience - hanging mesh with Magni or similar equipment
Helicopter-supported operations
IRATA or SPRAT Level 3 Rope Access Certification (required)

Key Responsibilities

Operate a 45 lb pneumatic hand drill in demanding field conditions, including prolonged exposure to vibration.
Perform drilling, scaling, rockfall mitigation, and installation activities safely and efficiently.
Inspect, operate, clean, and maintain equipment and tools in accordance with company standards.
Fulfill the duties of a Rope Access Technician/Supervisor in accordance with current IRATA or SPRAT Safe Practices.
Review and follow project drawings, work plans, permits, and site documentation.
Attend and actively participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
Immediately report hazards, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to the Site Supervisor.
Perform all assigned duties as directed by the Site Superintendent while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Required Skills & Abilities

Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety by adhering to all Global Rock Works and client safety policies, procedures, and site requirements.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a rope access harness on steep slopes for extended periods.
Physically capable of performing strenuous work in remote, steep, and challenging outdoor environments.
Comfortable working at heights and around heavy equipment.
Ability to safely navigate active construction sites.
Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willing to assist with other project tasks as required.
Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions in challenging conditions.
Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining clean, orderly worksites, equipment, and vehicles.
