Position Summary
This position is responsible for activities required in the maintenance of the greenhouses and fertilizing plants to produce plant material for scheduled target ready dates that meet plant quality and meet company goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Supervise and coordinate the staking, tying, fertilizing, and changing containers, as necessary, on all blocks and greenhouse according to timing and need within the growing season.
· Monitor crops for plant nutrition, pest, and disease in coordination with the Plant Health Team.
· Complete and submit accurate inventory adjustment forms daily for production activities.
· Maintain greenhouses, making upgrades and repairs as necessary.
· Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in storage.
· Train, lead, coach and supervise team of employees, develop daily objectives for employees and monitor their performance to maximize efficiency.
· Submit daily production metrics for KPI tracking.
· Implement process improvement on a continuing basis.

Education and Experience
· Degree in Horticulture (vocation and/or bachelors’ degree) preferred.
· 1 to 3 years of nursery experience required.
· Previous experience managing/supervising employees required.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills; responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
· Excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities.
· Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and familiar with Teams.
· Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
Physical Demands
· Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 50 pounds.
· Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
· On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.
· Operate farm equipment when needed.
· Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.
· Regular mental demands such as comprehension, reasoning, decision making, and strong math skills.
