Position Overview
Powersports of Modesto is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated Utility Person / Lot Attendant to help maintain the appearance and organization of our dealership. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in creating an outstanding experience for our customers by ensuring our showroom, service areas, and inventory are always clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys staying active, and is comfortable working around motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, and trailers. This position requires someone who can safely move inventory, maintain the facility, and assist with deliveries and dealership operations.
Key Responsibilities
Dealership Appearance & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and professional appearance of the dealership, both inside and out.
- Empty trash receptacles throughout the dealership and keep exterior grounds free of litter and debris.
- Clean and restock customer and employee restrooms.
- Clean and maintain the employee break room.
- Keep customer-facing areas, entrances, sidewalks, and display areas clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist with general organization of the showroom, warehouse, and storage areas.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
Inventory Washing & Showroom Setup
- Wash motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, Sea-Doos, and other inventory daily.
- Prepare new and used units for showroom display and customer deliveries.
- Keep showroom units clean, polished, and free from fingerprints, dust, and water spots.
- Move units throughout the dealership to maintain attractive showroom displays.
- Push, maneuver, and position units safely in both showroom and warehouse areas.
- Assist with minor cosmetic preparation and reconditioning of used inventory.
Unit Transportation & Deliveries
- Load and unload motorcycles and powersports vehicles safely.
- Properly secure units using straps and tie-down procedures.
- Transport units to customers, events, vendors, or other locations as directed.
- Tow dealership trailers safely when required.
General Dealership Support
- Take quality inventory photos for online listings as needed.
- Assist the sales, service, and parts departments with dealership projects.
- Help organize inventory and maintain clean storage areas.
- Support dealership events, promotions, and other operational needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate and tow a trailer.
- Ability to safely load, unload, and secure powersports vehicles.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Able to frequently push and maneuver motorcycles and other powersports vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
- Previous powersports, automotive, dealership, or detailing experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Push and maneuver motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and personal watercraft.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
- Work comfortably in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate trucks and trailers while transporting dealership inventory.
