Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and oversee nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This vital role combines clinical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care, compliance with healthcare regulations, and effective team management. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will coordinate nursing staff, facilitate patient assessments, and uphold the highest standards of medical documentation and safety protocols. Your energetic approach will motivate your team and enhance the overall quality of care provided to diverse patient populations across acute, long-term, and specialized care settings.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities, ensuring adherence to facility policies and state healthcare regulations
Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks
Manage staffing schedules, delegate tasks, and supervise nursing staff to maintain optimal patient care delivery
Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy laws, infection control protocols, and nursing policy standards
Facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes
Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, catheter care, and perform sterile procedures following aseptic techniques
Conduct physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including behavioral health, geriatrics, pediatrics, and critical care units such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers

Skills

Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy and emergency medicine
Proven leadership in nurse management with supervising experience in hospital medicine or long-term care environments
Proficiency in EMR/EHR
Emergency Department experience preferred
Strong understanding of hospital regulations, OSHA standards, DME (Durable Medical Equipment),
Skilled in patient assessment techniques such as vital signs measurement, venipuncture, phlebotomy, tube feeding administration, catheterization, and NG tube management
Excellent managerial communication skills for managing teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient safety and satisfaction
Knowledge of infection control practices including sterile processing procedures; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is a plus
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC or TNS IV insertion/injection administration; familiarity with hospital imaging or sonography is advantageous
