Full Job Description

Career Services Coordinator must:

Coordinate job search and placement; provide job readiness and training in accordance with school policies and requirements. Actively recruit clinics, hospitals, and medical employers to create new placement opportunities for students. This is a sales‑driven recruiting role responsible for securing clinical and employment sites for students. Heavy focused on outbound outreach, relationship‑building. Contact employers, present students’ qualifications, secure interviews, and maintain ongoing partnerships to support continuous hiring needs. develop potential business/industry training contracts that could be serviced by the school.

Specific Tasks:

* Assist and encourage students through job advising sessions dealing with the development and carryout of employment strategies.

* Maintain and strengthen working relationships with state, county, and federal program administrators who provide assistance with training and employment.

* Provide employment orientation to all participants and assess their needs to find the most suitable placement.

* Obtain necessary documents to prove each student's identity and right to work as required by Federal law.

* Contact prospective employers and employment services by phone, mail, and in person, to describe the program and elicit cooperation in providing job opportunities.

* Prepare and keep a current list of all prospective employers and jobs available in the area.

* Establish a referral system.

* Meet with students to establish a viable and realistic job search plan for their goals.

* Conduct training sessions to teach job search skills (e.g. how to fill out applications, create resumes, conduct mock interviews, interview well, etc.), so students present themselves in the best light, to increase employment potential.

* Develop referral sources and guest speakers for vocational and job search programs.

* Monitor and follow up with participants in order to insure they have retained their employment.

* Conduct periodic on-site job inspections to determine the effectiveness of the program.

* Maintain and update the Job Bank and Community Resource Manual monthly so employment opportunities and resources are available and

* Contact sources of subsidized assistance training programs.

* Verify employment to ensure graduates are meeting the standards required by law.

* Maintain files regarding employment status so progress can be measured.

* Complete annual reports for the state and accrediting agency.

* Establish employment goal for the school.

* Participate in staff meetings by sharing observations and recommendations regarding facility, participant, and staff relations, to work, identify, and solve problems as a unified team.

* Complete in-service training to meet personal and professional development requirements.

* Maintain confidentiality through job duties regarding employees, vendors, outside agencies, etc., so sensitive information is disclosed only on a "need to know" basis.

Reporting responsibilities:

This position reports to the Director of Operations. This person’s work will be evaluated annually according to the responsibilities stated above. The person occupying this position will also be responsible for knowing all policies and procedures of AMSC College as stated in staff manual.

Position Qualifications:

The person occupying this position shall demonstrate that they have organization and excellent communication skills. This person must be able to show that they can follow through on tasks and record keeping responsibilities. Additionally, this person should have close familiarity with office computer skills.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
