Full Job Description

Residential Manager (Group Home Manager ID/DD)

Salary: $64,350 - $65,800/yr

At Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE), we empower over 5,500 people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health challenges to thrive in their communities. FREE provides a diverse array of supports and services including: housing; recovery services; transition to work; employment; day, community and family services; respite; crisis services; education and after-school support; specialty health services; and advocacy.

As our Residential Manager, you will ensure that all the needs of people supported in the program are met, which includes ensuring their rights are respected, supporting their health/safety while working with them to identify and realize their personal outcomes. You will lead a team of Direct Support Professionals or Community Support Specialists and in conjunction with clinical providers, works alongside the people they support to develop plans to meet the individuals’ needs.

In addition, you will:

Advocate with the people we support in a variety of situations.
Work with the people we support to teach new life skills.
Assist the people we support to overcome barriers and challenges to establish/maintain a network of relationships.
Maintain ongoing communication with the individual, family members and other collateral providers involved with the program.
Manage personnel by supervising, training, evaluating, and observing assigned team members.
Interview, hire, develop and retain high-quality staff.
Ensure that all required documentation is correctly completed in a timely manner.
Work in partnership with external providers (employers, day services, etc.) to ensure that the service provided is designed to meet the needs of the people.

What you’ll need:

HS Diploma or equivalent for OPWDD
Valid NYS Driver’s License and satisfy the criteria to be a driver for the organization
18 years of age or older
Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental health disorders
Proficient computer skills strongly preferred
Proficient writing skills with a grasp of basic grammar and spelling
Efficient, well-organized, and have excellent communication skills
