POSITION DESCRIPTION
Natividad is currently accepting applications for Pharmacists in our Pharmacy Department. This incumbent performs professional pharmaceutical work in compounding and dispensing prescriptions and drugs; maintain pharmacy records and documents; and perform related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Licensure: Possess a valid license in Pharmacy issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy or ability to obtain prior to employment is required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Federal, Board of Pharmacy, and DHS laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to patient care, and dispensing of legend and non-legend pharmaceuticals and poisons

Prescription and non-prescription drugs and drug products and their indications, efficacy, dosage, mechanisms of action; fate and disposition (if known), major contraindications and potential side effects

Influence of patient's age, sex, concomitant disease states, concurrent drug therapy, foods and diagnostic procedures on drug activity and disposition

Physiology, anatomy, pathology, chemistry and mathematics as they relate to pharmacy practice

Major reference sources to answer drug information/ingestion questions Pharmaceutical manufacturing methods

Legislation governing pharmacy practice and hospital pharmacy services/hospital operations as they relate to pharmacy services.

Education: Graduation from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education with a Bachelor of Science degree
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.

Natividad will conduct a thorough background and reference check process which includes a Department of Justice fingerprint check.

Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid Driver License for the class vehicle driven or have the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority.

Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid Driver License or State ID prior to the first day of work (Social Security Card is required for payroll purposes only).

Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
