About the Role
Vision Integrated Systems (VIS) is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Service Technician to join our growing team. We design, install, and service integrated low-voltage systems that keep facilities connected, protected, and efficient. This role covers both new installations and ongoing service work on enterprise-level security systems, including access control, surveillance, and intercom solutions. You will install new systems in the field and respond to service calls to diagnose, repair, and maintain existing systems, working closely with project managers, service dispatch, and clients to ensure every system performs exactly as designed.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation
- Install and program security systems, including access control panels, surveillance cameras, electrified door locks, and alarm systems
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrified hardware, including experience installing electric strikes, mortise locks, and crash bars
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling for security systems
- Mount and align cameras, sensors, and other security equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical schematics
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and project specifications on every job site
Service & Support
- Respond to service calls and trouble tickets to diagnose and repair existing access control, surveillance, and intercom systems
- Perform preventive maintenance, system health checks, and firmware/software updates on installed systems
- Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, network, and software issues to restore systems to full working order
- Perform system configurations, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
- Evaluate aging or underperforming systems and recommend repairs, upgrades, or retrofits
- Provide on-site customer support and walk clients through system operation as needed
General
- Maintain accurate installation and service documentation, including service tickets and job reports
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and project managers
- Keep job sites and service vehicle organized, clean, and secure
- Stay current with new technologies, best practices, and industry standards
- Lead and mentor a team of installers as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus
- Minimum 3 years of experience in security system installation, service, or low-voltage work
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing access control, CCTV/surveillance, or intercom systems in the field
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used for cabling, mounting, and system testing
- Familiarity with industry-standard security systems such as Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, Zenitel, or similar platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working independently on service calls as well as part of an installation crew
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

- On-Call: This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours service calls and emergencies as needed
