Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency, enabling us to achieve our mission with confidence. Responsibilities

Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and transaction coding using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Process payroll and handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions efficiently and accurately.
Maintain detailed records of financial transactions in spreadsheets and financial software, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting purposes.
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors promptly.
Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and assisting with financial planning activities related to non-profit or corporate accounting environments.

Skills

Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting systems, and financial software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and GAAP standards.
Excellent proficiency in spreadsheets for data analysis, report writing, and account reconciliation tasks.
Knowledge of payroll processing procedures and compliance requirements.
Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger accounting accurately.
Familiarity with public accounting practices or non-profit accounting is a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
