Tool & Die – 3rd Shift

Location: Edgerton, Ohio
Shift: 3rd Shift (Overnight)

We are currently seeking a Tool & Die Repair Technician to join our Tooling Department in Edgerton, Ohio.

Position Overview

The Tool & Die Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining stamping tooling to ensure production targets and quality standards are met. This role plays a critical part in supporting press operations, troubleshooting tooling issues, and performing preventative maintenance.

The successful candidate will also assist in training and supporting associate-level technicians within the tooling department.

Key Responsibilities

Repair and maintain stamping dies and tooling components
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) checks and repair any issues identified
Troubleshoot tooling problems both in-press and offline
Respond to press calls in a timely manner to minimize downtime
Perform welding, spotting, finishing, and general die repairs
Assist with finger adjustments when required
Support quality improvements and tooling countermeasures requested by customers
Assist in the design and fabrication of gauges within the tooling department
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
Complete daily maintenance tracking reports and communication logs
Maintain safe work practices when operating equipment such as cranes, presses, and lathes
Follow 5S practices and maintain an organized work environment
Perform small machining tasks when required
Assist with training and mentoring apprentice or associate-level technicians

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Journeyman Tool & Die certification preferred
Candidates with 5+ years of strong Tool & Die or stamping tooling experience will also be considered
Experience troubleshooting and repairing stamping dies
Ability to read and interpret die drawings and part prints
Experience with machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and drill presses
Welding experience including TIG, MIG, ARC, gas cutting, or plasma cutting
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Skills

Crane license preferred
Valid First Aid certification and knowledge of Health & Safety practices
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, heat, and moving equipment

Health & Safety

Employees must follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing their duties.
