Full Job Description

Job Summary
ITS Customs Brokers is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to directly handle invoicing, accounts payable, and cash payment recording for our customs brokerage operations in both the U.S. and Canada. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling multi-currency transactions, and excellent communication skills, as you will frequently interact with brokers and clients to resolve invoice and billing inquiries.

ITS Customs Brokers is a small, actively growing U.S. Customs Brokerage in Fargo striving to improve every day. Our continued growth relies on adding outstanding individuals to our team.

Key Responsibilities
Invoicing & Accounts Receivable:
Prepare, group, and issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure proper coding and documentation of charges related to customs brokerage services. Track outstanding invoices and follow up on payments.

Accounts Payable:
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
Verify invoice accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized payment records.
Manage multi-currency transactions for both U.S. and Canadian accounts.

Payment Recording & Reconciliation:
Record and apply payments to customer accounts.
Reconcile bank transactions and ensure accuracy in financial records.
Maintain detailed documentation of financial transactions for auditing purposes.

Client & Broker Communication:
Develop relationships with customers to provide exceptional customer service.
Value customer concerns and mistakes to strengthen relationships.
Address inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
Communicate effectively with brokers, clients, and internal teams to resolve billing issues.

Qualifications & Skills:
Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to resolve billing inquiries professionally.
Proven experience in billing, accounts payable, and accounting.
Strong knowledge of invoicing processes, accounts reconciliation, and financial record-keeping. Proficiency in accounting or billing software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Highest standards of confidentiality.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of financial reporting principles.
Experience handling multi-currency transactions (U.S. and Canadian dollars preferred).
