Full Job Description

Fadal CNC Mill Setup Machinist
McNeal Enterprises, Inc.

Shift 1: 6am - 2:30pm

Shift 2: 10am to 6:30pm

Summary:

As a CNC Mill Setup Machinist, you will be involved in the production of critical parts for semiconductor and medical device applications. You should have prior experience setting up CNC Mills (Fadals) and be capable of working semi autonomously on parts once a program is provided. You will be expected to follow programs, blueprints, and schematics to set up CNC mills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Sets up, prepares, and loads raw materials or parts onto machines based on program and blueprint/technical documents, as well as ensure first part conformance
Adjusts offsets, feeds, and speed, and tool paths as needed
Comprehends technical documents, such as blueprints and drawings, set-up diagrams, written/verbal specifications, and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ensures part conformance to specifications using standard measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.)
Measures and records parts or materials to control quality and minimizes rework and scrap
Abides by shop safety principles and works as part of a high performing team

Required Skills:

Experience as a CNC Mill Setup Machinist (5+ years experience, experience with Fadals)
(Preferred) 5th axis milling experience
(Preferred) Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor), CAD/CAM, Excel
(Preferred) Understands the qualities of plastics and applies that knowledge to machining
Ability to work autonomously under limited supervision/instruction
Knowledge of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Proficient computer skills (Opening/Writing files, navigating file system)
Coursework or a degree in machine tool technology or related fields
