CNC Machinist - Setup & Programming (Fanuc)

Location: Fairfield, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role Earn $28-$38/hour while machining precision titanium and nickel alloy components used in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.

Titanium Fabrication (TiFab) is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who can program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills from start to finish. This is not a button-pushing production role. You'll work on low-volume, high-precision parts where craftsmanship, problem solving, and attention to detail matter.

If you enjoy programming, setup work, tight tolerances, and producing complex components, this is an opportunity to join a stable shop with steady hours, optional overtime, and opportunities to expand your skills working with exotic materials.

What You'll Do

Program, set up, and operate CNC horizontal and vertical mills and lathes
Edit and optimize CNC programs using Fanuc controls
Machine titanium, nickel alloys, stainless steel, and other specialty materials
Produce precision parts while maintaining tolerances of +/- .001" to .002"
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and work instructions
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts for inspection
Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or tooling adjustments
Perform basic machine maintenance including fluid checks and routine upkeep
Complete production and quality documentation accurately
Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve efficiency

Must-Have Skills and Experience

(These are required for consideration.)

3+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines
Experience with Fanuc controls
Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
Experience holding precision tolerances (+/- .001" to .002")
Knowledge of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
High school diploma or GED
Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-Have Skills

(These are preferred but not required.)

Manual machining experience
Experience machining titanium, nickel alloys, Inconel, or other exotic materials
Experience with horizontal and vertical machining centers
G-Code and M-Code editing experience
GD&T knowledge
Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision manufacturing environments
Experience with Tasnuc controls
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
