Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Bather to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the grooming process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pet care and animal handling, with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, paw pad and sanitary trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats if applicable.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, recommending appropriate grooming treatments as needed.
- Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ needs, and any health concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service to build lasting relationships with clients.
- Assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of dog handling techniques and familiarity with different breeds’ grooming requirements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary when handling larger animals.
- Experience in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming sessions.
- Additional experience in equine care or pet sitting is beneficial but not required.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
