Job Overview
BoldRoot Builders is looking for a motivated Carpenter Apprentice who is eager to learn the residential construction trade while working alongside experienced craftsmen. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in doing quality work, and is looking to build a long-term career in construction. You'll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of residential projects, including remodels, additions, decks, garages, kitchens, bathrooms, and custom carpentry throughout Northern Vermont.
As a Carpenter Apprentice, you'll assist with all phases of construction while learning proper building techniques, safe work practices, and the skills needed to become a well-rounded carpenter. You'll work closely with Lead Carpenters and experienced team members, helping with site preparation, framing, material handling, finish work, and job site organization while developing your knowledge and confidence each day.

Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Carpenters and Carpenters with all phases of residential construction.
- Perform demolition, site preparation, and job site cleanup.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with framing, siding, roofing, decking, drywall, flooring, trim, and other carpentry tasks.
- Measure, cut, and install materials under the direction of experienced carpenters.
- Learn proper construction techniques, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as trained.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support daily project goals.
- Follow directions, ask questions, and continuously develop new skills and responsibilities.
- Represent BoldRoot Builders with professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support successful project completion.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience is a plus but not required—we're willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong interest in residential construction and a desire to build a long-term career in the skilled trades.
- Willingness to learn from experienced carpenters and accept constructive feedback.
- Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions while working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
