Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM to 10 PM
Sunday 11:30 AM to 6 PM
*MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE WHOLE DAY YOUR SCHEDULED - NO HALF SHIFTS*
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Store Receptionist is the first person our customers interact with and plays an important role in keeping Ink Addiction Tattoo Studio professional, welcoming, clean, organized, and running smoothly.
This position requires excellent customer service, dependability, professionalism, cleanliness, organization, and the ability to stay productive throughout the entire shift.
CUSTOMER SERVICE & FRONT DESK
The receptionist is responsible for:
- Greeting every customer promptly and professionally when they enter the studio.
- Maintaining a friendly, welcoming attitude toward all customers.
- Answering the studio phone professionally and assisting customers with general questions.
- Responding to messages and appointment inquiries as directed by management.
- Explaining basic studio policies, pricing, deposits, and appointment procedures.
- All payments are to be made upfront before any services are rendered.
- Directing tattoo- or piercing-specific questions to the appropriate artist, piercer, or manager when necessary.
- Making sure customers are checked in and the appropriate staff member knows they have arrived.
- Keeping the front desk organized and presentable.
- Never ignoring customers or allowing personal conversations or phone use to interfere with customer service.
APPOINTMENTS & SCHEDULING
Receptionist duties include:
- Scheduling appointments accurately.
- Collecting all required information before booking an appointment.
- Confirming the correct artist/piercer, date, time, service, and deposit requirements.
- Recording appointments immediately to prevent double bookings or scheduling mistakes.
- Communicating cancellations, rescheduling requests, or other appointment issues to the appropriate staff member.
- Following all studio deposit and cancellation policies.
- Never promising a customer a service, price, discount, or appointment without authorization when unsure.
CLEANING & STORE UPKEEP
Keeping the studio clean is part of the receptionist position and is an ongoing responsibility throughout the shift.
Duties may include:
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Wiping down counters, front desk areas, tables, chairs, doors, and other common surfaces.
- Keeping the lobby and customer areas clean and organized.
- Cleaning and maintaining restrooms throughout the day.
- Emptying trash cans as needed.
- Restocking toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other supplies.
- Cleaning glass, mirrors, doors, and windows as needed.
- Keeping hallways and common areas free of clutter.
- Completing opening and closing cleaning duties.
- Immediately addressing spills, trash, or visibly dirty areas instead of waiting until the end of the shift.
Employees should not wait to be specifically asked to clean something that clearly needs attention.
STOCKING & INVENTORY
The receptionist is expected to help ensure the studio remains properly stocked and organized.
Responsibilities include:
- Checking commonly used supplies throughout the shift.
- Restocking customer and general studio supplies.
- Keeping storage areas neat and organized.
- Notifying management BEFORE supplies completely run out.
- Helping receive, organize, and put away supply orders.
- Following management instructions regarding inventory and supply lists.
- Never removing studio supplies or merchandise without permission.
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY POLICY
Reliable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
Employees are expected to:
- Arrive on time and be ready to work at the beginning of their scheduled shift.
- Work all scheduled shifts unless time off has been approved.
- Request planned time off as far in advance as possible.
- Contact owners ( Rebecca or Russ ) personally if they are going to be late or absent, and must contact as early as possible, shutting down the store equals termination.
- Give as much notice as reasonably possible for unexpected illness or emergencies.
- Never rely on another employee to inform management that they will not be coming to work.
- Understand that repeated tardiness, excessive absences, leaving early without approval, or failure to report for a scheduled shift will result in termination.
A “no call/no show” is considered a serious attendance violation and you will be terminated.
PERSONAL PHONE USE
Personal phone use should be kept to a minimum while working.
Employees should not be sitting on their phones while:
- Customers are waiting for assistance.
- The phone is ringing.
- Cleaning or stocking needs to be completed.
- Other assigned duties are unfinished.
Emergency or necessary personal phone use is understandable, but excessive social media, texting, videos, or personal calls during working time are not acceptable.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
All employees are expected to:
- Treat customers, coworkers, artists, piercers, management, and owners respectfully.
- Avoid arguing or having inappropriate conversations in front of customers.
- Keep confidential business and customer information private.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Follow instructions given by management.
- Avoid workplace drama, gossip, or behavior that creates an uncomfortable environment.
- Never come to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Report customer complaints, safety concerns, or unusual situations to management promptly.
STAYING PRODUCTIVE
This is not a position where an employee should sit and wait for something to do.
When the front desk is slow, employees should look for productive tasks such as cleaning, organizing, stocking, checking supplies, or completing other assigned duties.
If everything appears completed, ask management what else needs to be done.
OPENING & CLOSING RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on the scheduled shift, responsibilities may include:
- Preparing the front desk for business.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures.
- Checking the lobby and restroom before opening.
- Making sure necessary supplies are stocked.
- Checking appointments and scheduled customers.
- Straightening and cleaning the studio before closing.
- Emptying trash.
- Completing assigned closing cleaning.
- Securing designated areas as instructed by management.
- Making sure the studio is ready for the following business day.
MANAGEMENT DIRECTION
Employees may occasionally be asked to perform reasonable duties that are not specifically listed above.
Being willing to help where needed is part of working as a team and keeping the studio operating successfully.
Failure to perform assigned duties, repeated attendance problems, excessive personal phone use, poor customer service, insubordination, failure to maintain cleanliness, or repeated violations of studio policies may result in disciplinary action, including termination.
Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
