Remote Bookkeeper / Auditor (Part-Time)

Approximately 20-40 Hours per week | Remote | Contract/Part-Time to Full-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled Remote Bookkeeper with auditing experience to provide monthly financial oversight and ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity across all bookkeeping functions. This role is ideal for a professional who is precise, analytical, and experienced in reviewing financial work performed by others.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct monthly accounting reviews with an auditor’s eye for discrepancies, inconsistencies, and compliance issues.
Review reconciliations (bank, credit card, deposits, vendor accounts).
Audit bookkeeping entries to ensure adherence to local and organizational standards.
Oversee bookkeeping processes and monitor workflow accuracy and timeliness.
Supervise and quality-check the work of the bookkeeper, providing corrections and guidance through management.
Review payroll after posting to ensure accuracy and proper categorization.
Verify that all monthly financial statements and reports are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
Identify and flag irregularities, risks, or opportunities for improvement in financial processes.
Maintain and ensure the overall integrity and audit-readiness of the books.
Provide recommendations for improved internal controls and financial procedures.

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or related field (required).
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with QuickBooks (required).
Must have working with QuickBooks Online specifically in an bookkeeping compacity for over 5 years.
Experience in auditing, financial review, or compliance oversight.
Prior experience supervising bookkeeping functions.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines.
On the job training is not something we can offer you. You need to come prepared and understanding how to do the work.

Schedule & Compensation

Approximately 20-40 hours per week, flexible schedule.
100% remote.
Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
You will need to be available to work from 9 am - 5 pm Eastern Standard Time Zone every weekday.
