Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Tax Preparer and become a vital part of helping individuals and businesses navigate the complex world of tax compliance and reporting. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in tax laws, accounting, and financial concepts to prepare accurate tax returns, provide exceptional client service, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. Your proactive approach will empower clients to maximize their refunds and stay compliant with current tax regulations, all while fostering trust and long-term relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Duties

Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns using tax preparation software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, and specialized tax software.
Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting tax documents to ensure accurate reporting.
Stay current with tax law changes and ensure all filings comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, clarify details, and explain tax strategies or obligations.
Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize their financial outcomes while maintaining compliance.
Conduct thorough review of completed returns for accuracy before submission; identify potential issues or discrepancies for resolution.
Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and provide excellent customer service that encourages repeat business and referrals.

Skills

Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual and corporate tax return filing; partnership tax expertise is a plus.
Strong knowledge of tax law, compliance standards, and reporting requirements across various entities.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial management tools.
Familiarity with tax preparation software platforms; ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
Excellent analysis skills for reviewing complex financial data and identifying key insights.
Exceptional client communication skills to explain technical information clearly and build trust.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple deadlines efficiently.
Basic math skills combined with 10-key typing proficiency for data entry accuracy.
Sales acumen for client acquisition and marketing efforts that grow the firm’s presence in the community.
Fundamental understanding of bookkeeping, corporate accounting, financial concepts, and technical accounting principles.
