Shape the future today.Job Overview:

Under general supervision, act in the capacity as Corporate Counsel for MBV on-site at MBV’s Ladson, SC location. Provide timely advice, support, and analysis for management and business units related to a wide range of topics supported by the Legal Department. This includes direct and indirect procurement, commercial agreements and transactions, intra-company agreements, contracts, creation of contract templates, employment, immigration, labor, litigation, and other matters. Additionally, provide direct support to the General Counsel for daily operations within the legal department, matters of strategic importance to management of the company, and critical business needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform various legal activities within the established standards of the legal profession to protect MBV’s legal, reputational, and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Prepare, review, and revise legal contracts, agreements, and other documents related to a variety of commercial, financial, and operational matters to protect and further the organization's legal and business interests.

Draft, negotiate, and approve the content and implementation of contracts, agreements, and other legal and business documents in accordance with Mercedes-Benz policy.

Provide guidance, risk analyses, and process support related to employment, immigration, labor, litigation, and other matters.

Support business units, managers, and employees with legal consultation and advice relevant to department activities, projects, risks, and decisions.

Work with external legal counsel on legal matters.

Support business units, managers, and employees with supplier disputes and negotiations.

Provide legal research, analysis, advice and recommendations on legal and business activities.

Support litigation, arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities.

Meet with other internal departments as needed to accomplish MBV projects requiring legal support.

Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationen

Qualifications

2-5 years of relevant legal experience.

Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited United States Law School.

Licensed (active) U.S. attorney in good standing.

South Carolina Bar admission required.

Knowledge and Skills

Must possess the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, dependability, and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

Ability to work against deadlines and manage multiple tasks within a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of fundamentals of law.

Must have excellent legal administration skills and strong organization skills.

Capability to understand, analyze, and articulate legal positions, contractual obligations, risks, legal requirements, etc.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, AI, and other technology tools.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV Charleston”) is a Ladson, South Carolina–based production entity that manufactures Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

The Sprinter plant officially opened in 2018 and serves as a key part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network. MBV Charleston was selected as the first plant in this network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024. The company also continues to invest in the local community through donations to non-profits and schools, as well as active support of STEM education initiatives and volunteer programs.

Since 2006, Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the United States. In 2025, the plant celebrated the assembly of the 5,000,000th Sprinter in the Mercedes-Benz global production network. The U.S. remains the second largest market for Sprinter vans after Germany.
