Duties

Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation by following proper handling procedures and cleaning protocols
Support the culinary team in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating
Ensure adherence to recipe guidelines to maintain consistency and quality in every dish served
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and meet service times
Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supplies needed
Follow safety standards in production areas to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food handling safety practices
Knowledge of food industry standards related to cooking, meal preparation, and catering services
Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
Demonstrated understanding of food safety management and hygiene standards
