Description of Work:
This position provides administrative, secretarial, accounting and educational support to the program of Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District. Education Coordinator handles numerous educational programs, and presents conservation lessons and activities in the County schools and Home schools. Duties include preparing independently routine correspondence and documents, establishing and maintaining schedules of administrative and financial nature, collecting and filing data for periodic reports and providing the maximum opportunity for the public to contact the district in writing or in person.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office administration. Knowledge of general accounting principles. Knowledge of agency programs and principles of soil and water technology.

Abilities: Sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping and lifting within reason.

Required Minimum Training : Associate Degree in Office Administration or High School graduate with at least two years experience in office administration.

Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for use at work.
