Architectural Sheet Metal & ACM Fabrication Technician
Siding Solutions & Construction
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay: $24–$32/hour DOE | Higher compensation may be considered for exceptional experience
This Is a Fabrication Position
Siding Solutions & Construction is looking for a skilled, mechanically minded Architectural Sheet Metal & ACM Fabrication Technician to join our growing team.
Fabrication is the primary responsibility of this position.
We are specifically looking for someone who has professional experience working with fabrication machinery, sheet metal, metalworking, machining, architectural panels, or similar industrial/manufacturing equipment.
If you have experience operating equipment such as folders, brakes, shears, press brakes, CNC equipment, metal-forming machinery, or similar fabrication equipment, we especially want to hear from you.
We will train the right candidate on our specific equipment, products, processes, and standards, but we are not looking to teach someone from scratch how to work with tools, machinery, measurements, drawings, and fabricated materials.
The right person should already be comfortable in a professional shop or production environment and have demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
What You'll Be DoingFabrication — Your Primary Responsibility
You will work hands-on in our fabrication shop producing components for commercial and residential construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate and become fully proficient on computerized folders, shears, brakes, and related fabrication equipment
- Fabricate architectural sheet-metal trim, flashings, panels, and custom components
- Assist with and ultimately become proficient in ACM/MCM architectural panel fabrication
- Accurately measure, cut, bend, form, and assemble materials
- Read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication drawings, dimensions, and project specifications
- Determine appropriate fabrication sequences and equipment setups
- Produce custom components according to project requirements
- Verify dimensions and tolerances before releasing finished products
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, appearance, and quality
- Identify fabrication problems before they become expensive mistakes
- Troubleshoot equipment and fabrication-process issues
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Minimize material waste, scrap, and unnecessary rework
- Properly label, organize, and stage completed fabrication orders
- Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and safe fabrication environment
- Work with project and field teams to ensure fabricated materials are ready when needed
- Continually improve fabrication processes, quality, and efficiency
We are looking for someone who wants to master the equipment and understand the fabrication process, not simply learn which buttons to push.
ACM & Architectural Panel Fabrication
Siding Solutions & Construction is continuing to expand its in-house fabrication capabilities, including ACM architectural panel systems.
The person hired for this position will have the opportunity to help develop this side of our operation.
Depending on experience and training, responsibilities may eventually include:
- ACM/MCM panel fabrication
- Panel layout
- Cutting and routing
- Bending and forming
- Cassette/panel assembly
- Attachment component fabrication
- Reading architectural elevations and shop drawings
- Quality control
- Material optimization
- Production planning
- Equipment operation and maintenance
Previous ACM/MCM experience is highly desirable but is not required if you bring strong transferable fabrication experience and mechanical aptitude.
Additional Shop & Material Responsibilities
Although fabrication is the primary responsibility, our fabrication department directly supports our construction projects and field teams.
You may occasionally assist with:
- Receiving and inspecting fabrication materials
- Organizing sheet goods, coils, panels, and related materials
- Pulling and staging material for fabrication
- Preparing completed fabrication orders for field crews
- Loading and unloading materials
- Operating forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Maintaining organized material inventory
- Assisting with supplier pickups or jobsite deliveries when needed
- Supporting material flow between suppliers, fabrication, warehouse, and field crews
Experience with warehouse operations, forklifts, inventory, logistics, trailers, deliveries, or construction materials is highly valued, but these skills are secondary to fabrication capability.
Who We're Looking For
The strongest candidates will already have professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Sheet-metal fabrication
- Architectural metal fabrication
- ACM/MCM fabrication
- HVAC sheet-metal fabrication
- Metal roofing fabrication
- Welding and metalworking
- CNC fabrication
- Press-brake operation
- Machining
- Sign fabrication
- Manufacturing
- Industrial production
- Other closely related fabrication environments
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they have personally operated machinery and produced finished products from raw materials, drawings, measurements, or work orders.
Required Characteristics
Regardless of your exact background, you must be:
Mechanically Inclined
You should enjoy understanding how machines, materials, and fabrication processes work.
Accurate
A small measurement error can ruin expensive material or create major problems in the field. You must be comfortable working accurately with measurements, dimensions, and tolerances.
Quality Driven
We care about craftsmanship. Finished products should leave the shop correct, clean, properly labeled, and ready for installation.
A Fast Learner
You will be trained on equipment and processes specific to our operation. We expect you to retain that training and progress toward independent operation.
Dependable
Our field crews depend on the fabrication department. Attendance, punctuality, follow-through, and meeting production schedules matter.
Organized
Fabrication orders, materials, drawings, completed components, tools, and equipment must remain organized.
Capable of Working Independently
We are not looking for someone who needs constant supervision.
Once properly trained, you should be able to receive an assignment, understand what needs to happen, identify problems, ask intelligent questions when necessary, and complete the work correctly.
Someone Who Takes Ownership
If something isn't right, we expect you to address it.
We value people who see problems, communicate them, propose solutions, and follow through.
QualificationsStrongly Preferred
- Previous professional fabrication or manufacturing experience
- Sheet-metal or architectural-metal experience
- Experience operating fabrication machinery
- Experience reading fabrication drawings, shop drawings, or blueprints
- Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring equipment
- Experience working from dimensions and specifications
- Mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Experience with quality-control procedures
Additional Experience That Gives You an Advantage
- ACM/MCM panel fabrication
- Folder operation
- Shear operation
- Brake or press-brake operation
- CNC machinery
- Welding
- Plasma cutting
- Architectural sheet metal
- Construction experience
- Forklift operation
- Warehouse/material handling
- Inventory management
- Equipment maintenance
- Logistics/deliveries
- Trailer towing
You do not need experience in every category.
We would rather hire someone with deep fabrication/mechanical ability and the right attitude than someone with shallow experience across twenty different areas.
What This Position Is NOT
This is not primarily a warehouse position.
It is not primarily a delivery-driver position.
It is not a general construction-labor position.
And it is not intended for someone looking for a job where they wait for a supervisor to provide their next task throughout the day.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop into an exceptional fabrication professional and eventually take significant ownership within our fabrication operation.
Career Growth
This is not intended to be a dead-end production position.
We're investing in our fabrication capabilities and expect this department to become increasingly important to the future of Siding Solutions & Construction.
For the right individual, advancement could include:
Fabrication Technician
↓
Senior Fabrication Technician
↓
Shop / Fabrication Lead
↓
Fabrication Supervisor
↓
Fabrication Manager
Advancement will be based on demonstrated capability, leadership, ownership, quality, reliability, and contribution—not simply length of employment.
Someone who becomes capable of independently managing fabrication production, equipment, quality, material flow, and eventually other team members can create a significant career opportunity here.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Compensation: $24–$32/hour based on experience and demonstrated capability
Candidates with exceptional architectural sheet-metal, ACM/MCM, CNC, brake/folder/shear, or closely related fabrication experience may be considered above the posted range.

Before You Apply
Please answer the following questions with your application.
Generic answers will not help us understand your experience. Specific examples are strongly preferred.
1. What fabrication machinery have you personally operated?
Please list the equipment and briefly describe your experience and proficiency with each machine.
2. Describe the most complex item or component you have personally fabricated.
What material did you work with? What equipment did you use? Did you work from drawings, measurements, templates, or specifications? What portions of the fabrication process were personally your responsibility?
3. How comfortable are you reading fabrication/shop drawings and working accurately from dimensions and measurements?
Please provide an example from your previous work.
4. Why are you specifically interested in fabrication as a career rather than general warehouse, construction, or manufacturing work?
We want to understand what you're looking for long term.
Ready to Build Something?
If you're already good at building, fabricating, machining, forming, welding, or working with industrial equipment and want the opportunity to become exceptional at architectural fabrication, we want to talk to you.
We're building a serious in-house fabrication operation—not simply filling another shop position.
