JOB TITLE: 3P (Project, Problem, and Place-Based) Learning Coach
CLASSIFICATION: Professional
REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Services
SUPERVISES: Not applicable
GENERAL JOB FUNCTION:
The 3P Learning Coach provides internal and district-level coaching, professional learning, and systems support to advance project, problem, and place-based learning practices across classrooms, schools, and communities.

TERMS:
This position is a 200 total paid days position offering full family medical, dental, and vision benefits. Dental, vision, and life insurance are paid by the district at no cost to the employee. Personal business days,
holidays and sick time paid. Retirement through the Office of Retirement Services (Pension Plus or Defined Contribution).
SALARY RANGE:
This position is on the School Year Professional Scale, $57679.02- $87765.06 per year on the BA lane. Lanes for BA+20, MA, MA+30, and MA+60 available.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Coach one-on-one and groups of teachers and administrators in use of the 3P Learning and/or Design Thinking processes.

Serve as a member of the ISD 3P instructional team.

Participate in county and statewide networks and professional learning in 3P learning.

Work with other MAISD staff and teams to support district needs.

Maintain confidential relationships

Coach teachers and administrators to help implement instructional and systems-level plans in grades K-12.

Spend time outside the school day to collaborate with teachers and colleagues

Facilitate ongoing, instruction-specific conversations designed to improve student
learning

Support teachers to create and execute clear, logical instructional plans that produce
strong results in student learning

Support the integration of technology in effective instruction

Develop and deliver professional learning related to research-based strategies
-
Create a professional and collaborative environment that is one of mutual respect,
teamwork, and accountability

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Ability to work well with people, and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills
-
Five or more years teaching experience

Bachelor's degree in related field.

Demonstrated success with using 3P (Project, Problem, and Place-Based) Learning or Design thinking in a classroom setting.

Training in 3P (Project, Problem, and Place-Based) Learning, or Design Thinking Processes
-
Ability to convene and network with community and business partners.

Ability to use observational data and formative assessment processes to guide
professional learning and coaching

Knowledgeable about current research and pedagogical recommendations relevant to
the coaching role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in education related field
-
Specialized training focused on research-based and culturally responsive practices
-
Experience in a coaching role or other type of leadership role focused on adult learning

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of digital tools to facilitate instructional design, collaborative efforts, project management, documentation, and professional learning processes.

Employees in this classification are evaluated according to current Board policy.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Travel both within the county and throughout the state is required.
PAY STRUCTURE:
This position is on the School Year Schedule of the MAISD salary scales.
