Job Title: Event Support Specialist

Company: Kay Kay's Divine Kitchen & Catering by DJ
Reports To: Owner/Executive Chef
Job Type: Part-Time | Seasonal | Event-Based

Position Summary

The Event Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the successful setup, operation, and breakdown of catering events and mobile food service operations. This position is responsible for preparing event sites, assisting the chef and catering team, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, team-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced event environment.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEvent Setup & Operations

Load and unload catering equipment, food, and supplies.
Set up tents, tables, canopies, chairs, serving stations, signage, and event décor.
Assemble buffet lines and food service stations according to company standards.
Prepare the event workspace before guests arrive.
Ensure all equipment is safely and properly positioned.

Food Service Support

Assist the chef with food preparation, plating, garnishing, and replenishing food as needed.
Transport food and supplies safely between preparation and serving areas.
Monitor buffet and serving stations to keep them clean, stocked, and organized.
Refill beverages, condiments, utensils, napkins, and disposable service items.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Customer Service

Greet guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Answer basic questions regarding menu items.
Assist guests during meal service as directed.
Maintain a positive attitude while representing the company.

Event Breakdown

Break down serving stations, tents, tables, and equipment after events.
Clean and sanitize all equipment before loading.
Pack supplies and ensure all company property is accounted for.
Assist with returning equipment to storage.

General Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Assist in other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, event setup, or customer service is preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–10 hours).
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequently bend, squat, reach, push, and pull.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to load and unload equipment multiple times throughout an event.

Schedule Expectations
