Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic part-time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse accounting software and contribute to the financial success of a thriving organization committed to excellence.

Duties

Manage and record all financial transactions using Sage 100 or Quicken, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to verify data integrity.
Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors.
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
Generate detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and budget analysis, to support management decision-making.

Qualifications

Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and double-entry bookkeeping.
Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
Familiarity with governmental accounting procedures and tax experience is advantageous.
Ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
Excellent skills in debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
Proficiency in 10-key typing for efficient data entry and account processing.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
