PRINT PRODUCTION MANAGER
Lead the Team. Own the Workflow. Build a Print Operation You Can Be Proud Of.
Are you the person everyone turns to when the print floor gets busy, deadlines get tight, and jobs absolutely have to get done right?
Can you look at a production schedule, immediately see the bottlenecks, organize the work, get people moving in the right direction, and make sure the finished product meets the standard before it ever reaches the customer?
Do you take pride in running a clean, organized, efficient print operation where deadlines are met, mistakes are rare, equipment is maintained, and the team knows exactly what is expected of them?
If you know print production and know how to lead people, we should talk.
Morris Management is looking for an experienced Print Production Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our South Carolina Print Hub.
This is not simply a production position.
We are looking for someone who can lead the operation.
Someone who understands that every job on the production floor represents a promise made to a customer — and that quality, accuracy, communication, urgency, and on-time delivery matter.
Someone who doesn't wait for somebody else to solve the problem.
Someone who owns the outcome.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will be responsible for leading the production team and creating a print operation that is organized, productive, accountable, dependable, and profitable.
You will have ownership of workflow, scheduling, quality control, production standards, equipment, materials, team performance, and customer deadlines.
When production is running well, you'll know why.
When it isn't, you'll be expected to figure out why — and fix it.
If you're the kind of person who enjoys bringing order to complexity, developing people, improving processes, solving production problems, and watching a high-performing operation come together, this could be an outstanding opportunity.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Manage the daily operations of the print production hub.
- Lead, train, coach, and hold production team members accountable for performance and quality.
- Schedule and prioritize production jobs based on customer deadlines, complexity, and available resources.
- Monitor jobs from initial production through completion and make sure commitments are kept.
- Review completed work for accuracy, quality, color, finishing, quantities, and specifications.
- Catch mistakes before the customer does.
- Communicate effectively with sales associates, store management, customers, and production staff.
- Identify production bottlenecks and make adjustments to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
- Manage equipment, supplies, inventory, and maintenance needs.
- Ensure proper use and care of printers, copiers, cutters, bindery equipment, finishing equipment, and other production machinery.
- Establish and maintain organized production processes and workflow standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional production environment.
- Monitor team productivity and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new production employees.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently followed.
- Develop and improve procedures that increase production speed, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Roll up your sleeves and assist with production when needed, particularly during high-volume periods.
YOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF...
You are someone who:
Takes ownership.
When something goes wrong, your first question isn't "Whose fault is this?" It's "How do we fix it?"
Creates order.
Multiple jobs, competing deadlines, special requests, employees, equipment issues, and customer expectations don't overwhelm you. You organize them.
Sweats the details.
Wrong quantities, incorrect finishing, color issues, missed deadlines, and preventable reprints bother you.
Leads people.
You can train, coach, set expectations, give feedback, and hold people accountable while building a strong team.
Solves problems.
You don't need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do next.
Understands urgency.
A customer deadline is a commitment — not a suggestion.
Continually improves.
You're always looking for a better way to improve workflow, reduce errors, increase throughput, and make the operation stronger.
