Full Job Description

Bloom Bar is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and organized Pastry Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who is excited to take an active role in shaping and managing our kitchen program as we continue into year-round operations.

This is a hands-on position for someone who loves both the creative side of cooking and the operational side of running a successful kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

Managing daily kitchen operations and workflow
Creating and maintaining daily prep lists
Ordering food, pastry, and kitchen supplies
Managing kitchen inventory and maintaining proper food cost
Working alongside, training, and supporting kitchen staff
Maintaining high standards for organization, cleanliness, and consistency
Continuing to develop and evolve our existing dinner, small plates, and pastry programs
Creating new seasonal dishes and pastries while maintaining the identity of the Bloom Bar menu
Helping establish efficient systems and procedures for our year-round operation

We’re looking for someone who is creative, reliable, organized, collaborative, and excited to take ownership of their role. The ideal candidate has professional kitchen experience, strong pastry skills, and the ability to lead a small team while still being very much a part of the day-to-day cooking and prep.

About Bloom Bar & Café:

Bloom Bar opened on June 6 in the heart of the historic town of Nantucket and has already earned outstanding feedback. The space consists of a commercial kitchen with adequate storage; a 10-seat bar and intimate dining room with an indoor seated capacity of 32 persons. Service currently includes fast-casual brunch and full service dinner 6 days a week during peak season months, and taper to a more limited schedule during the off-season.

Menu Concept:

Menu concept is an elevated café, cocktail & wine bar concept. The current Menu features small & shareable plates and daily house made pastries. Menu to focus on/feature fresh, local, seasonal ingredients with evolving menu items that can also be tailored and curated to Chef's creativity. Italian/Mediterranean influence.

Compensation:

Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience and room for growth based on performance throughout the season. Will assist with seasonal housing if needed.
