Job Overview

Energize and inspire members by designing dynamic, engaging fitness programs that promote health, wellness, and personal achievement. As a Fitness Coordinator, you will lead group classes, develop personalized training plans, and foster a motivating environment that encourages members to reach their fitness goals. Your expertise in various fitness disciplines combined with excellent teaching skills will help create a vibrant community dedicated to active living. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while advancing your career in the health and fitness industry.

Responsibilities

Lead diverse group fitness classes including strength, balance, flexibility, endurance, and aquatic exercises as needed.
Develop and implement fitness programming that supports residents of varying abilities and interests. Instruct residnts on proper use of fitness equipment
Design tailored workout programs that align with individual goals, fitness levels, and physiological considerations.
Provide expert guidance on body mechanics, anatomy, physiology, and proper exercise techniques to ensure safe and effective workouts.
Promote the FitCamp Core Program as outlined in the FitCamp Training Manual.
Foster a welcoming environment by teaching with enthusiasm, encouraging participation, and supporting members’ progress.
Recruit and engage residents to participate in FitCamp and wellness programs, meetings participation benchmarks.
Conduct one-on-one fitness assessments using the Senior Fitness Test and develop customized fitness plans.

Requirements

Certified Personal Trainer through an accredited govering body (ACSM) preferred).
Two-year degree required; four-year degree in kinesiology or related field preferred.
Three to five years of experience in strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance training; senior population experience preferred.
Certification or experience in Kickboxing, CrossFit, Sports Coaching or other specialized fitness areas is highly desirable.
Excellent teaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Strong communication skills for engaging members and promoting services confidently.
Must be able to conduct low-impact aerobic exercise, including bending, twisting, and repetitive movements
Ability to engage and motivate residents of varying fitness levels.
Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods (2-6 hours per day).
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 60-70 pounds occasionally.
Demonstrate interest in working with a senior population.
Ability to work flexible schedule.
