CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to produce precision components for high-quality manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will operate and set up CNC machines (particularly Fanuc-controlled systems), interpret engineering drawings using GD&T principles, and work within ISO 13485 compliant processes to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, program (as required), and operate CNC machines (Fanuc and similar controls) to produce precision components to specification.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to verify part geometry and tolerances.
Perform CNC machine setup and tooling changes, including fixture installation, offsets, and cutter selection.
Conduct in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMM, and other precision measuring tools to ensure quality and conformance.
Document production and inspection results in accordance with ISO 13485 and company quality procedures; maintain traceability records.
Troubleshoot machine issues, optimize machining parameters for efficiency and part quality, and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput and reduce scrap.

Qualifications

2+ years experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in precision machining environments.
Proven experience with Fanuc CNC controls and CNC machine setup.
Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality system requirements, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Technical diploma or certificate in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent on-the-job experience accepted.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and in team settings.
