Full Job Description

Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor – Outpatient Treatment

Location: Omaha, NebraskaJob Type: Full-TimeSchedule: Primarily Daytime with Some Evening Programming

Help Build Something That Matters

A growing outpatient substance use treatment organization in the Omaha area is seeking a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team.

This is an opportunity for the right counselor to do more than simply carry a caseload. We are building a treatment environment centered around accountability, clinical excellence, recovery, and genuine human connection—and we are looking for someone who wants to play an important role in that growth.

Our program combines evidence-based clinical treatment with recovery-focused principles to help individuals not only achieve sobriety, but build lives worth staying sober for.

What You’ll Do

Conduct comprehensive substance use evaluations and assessments
Develop individualized treatment plans
Facilitate engaging individual and group counseling sessions
Provide counseling within outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care
Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment recommendations as appropriate
Coordinate care with referral sources and other providers
Assist clients in developing relapse-prevention and long-term recovery plans
Maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries
Help create a culture where clients feel supported, challenged, respected, and accountable

Who We’re Looking For

Appropriately licensed or credentialed to provide substance use counseling in Nebraska
Experienced in substance use disorder treatment
Comfortable facilitating groups
Dependable and organized with documentation
Compassionate without being afraid to hold clients accountable
Able to connect with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
Comfortable working as part of a close-knit, growing team
Excited about helping develop and strengthen a growing outpatient program

Experience with IOP, 12-Step/recovery-oriented programming, co-occurring disorders, assessments, or community-based treatment is highly valued.
