Job description:

You can help change lives and create memories to last a lifetime as the Program Director at beautiful Camp New Hope in Neoga, Illinois!

The Program Director of Camp New Hope is responsible for managing and overseeing Respite Weekends, Summer Camp, Bowling and other Camper programs such as Winter Camp and Holiday Parties.

They will serve as technical advisor and consultant to the Executive Director and administer the policies and plans presented by the Executive Director with regard to these programs. They shall also maintain a high level of efficiency when implementing these responsibilities.

Job Duties:
-Educates himself/herself on the history of Camp New Hope.
-Plans and executes camp activities for Summer Camp and Respite Weekends.
-Ensures that staff understands and complies with safety and health regulations and camp policies.
-Primary in hiring and training all Program staff with the assistance of the Executive Director.
-Directly supervises, schedules, and evaluates the unit leaders, counselors, cooks and program specialists.
-In cooperation with the Board of Directors and Executive Director, set annual goals for program growth that are in-line with the strategic plan.
-Plan or ensure the planning of fun, appropriate and safe camp programs.
-Coordinate with the Fundraising Director and Marketing subcontractor to assist with fundraising and marketing the camp.
-Maintains proper records as required by the Executive Director.
-Prepares monthly report on the status of all Camp New Hope programs and occasionally attend the monthly Board Meeting at the request of the Executive Director.
-Maintain and update camp registration software.
-Responsible for hiring the subordinate night supervisor and respite supervisor with the assistance of the Executive Director.
-Work with the Executive Director and other Staff to coordinate and delegate overlapping duties with the best interest of Campers in mind.
-Reviews and understands the program budget and constantly searches for ways to increase services offered within budgetary constraints.
-Participates in planning for the continued success and high quality of the programs under his/her direction.
-During anytime, assumes the role of any of the staff positions mentioned above if a specialist is unable to perform their duties.
-Participates in registration of Campers, verifying the paperwork is current and appropriate for each camper.
-Responsible for the health and welfare of campers.
-Prepares all forms and paperwork needed to execute a program including sign-ins and reminder emails.
-Coordinate volunteers needed for program activities if needed.
-Be prepared to fill in for other staff positions when those staff members are unable to attend an event or function.
Every staff member should be able to cover/fill in for another employee if needed so some cross-training must occur.
-Other duties as assigned by the President of the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:
Graduation from college or university shall be the most desirable education requirement, and it is preferred for the person to hold a bachelors’ degree or associate degree in special education, recreation, or related field, with related administrative or supervisory experience.

Valid CPR/First Aid certification is required as a condition of employment within 30 days of hire date.
