About the Position
As a Residential Service Plumber, you will run residential plumbing service and repair calls throughout the Las Vegas valley.
You will be responsible for diagnosing plumbing problems, explaining your findings clearly, presenting appropriate repair or replacement options, and completing approved work professionally.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can independently manage service calls and represent the company well inside the customer’s home.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot water leaks, drain problems, water-pressure issues, fixture failures, and related plumbing concerns
- Repair and replace faucets, toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, shower valves, hose bibs, and other plumbing fixtures
- Diagnose, repair, and replace conventional and tankless water heaters
- Perform water-heater maintenance and safety inspections
- Repair and replace water lines, drain lines, shutoff valves, pressure-reducing valves, and related components
- Perform drain cleaning and basic sewer-line troubleshooting when assigned
- Identify the actual cause of plumbing problems rather than treating only the symptoms
- Explain findings and recommendations clearly to homeowners
- Present repair, replacement, maintenance, and improvement options
- Complete approved repairs and collect payment
- Identify legitimate replacement and system-improvement opportunities
- Explain customer financing options when appropriate
- Complete estimates, invoices, notes, photos, and job documentation
- Use ServiceTitan for dispatching, customer history, estimates, and invoicing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle
- Protect the customer’s home and property
- Follow company procedures, manufacturer requirements, and applicable plumbing codes
- Participate in the assigned after-hours or on-call rotation
- Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatchers, managers, and coworkers
Qualifications
- Five or more years of residential plumbing service experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Experience independently running residential service calls
- Valid plumbing license or certification when required by applicable regulations
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to clearly explain repair and replacement options
- Comfortable discussing pricing and collecting payment
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and digital service software
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, confined spaces, and outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to safely lift and carry tools, equipment, water heaters, and plumbing materials
- Willingness to participate in background and driving-record screening
Experience with ServiceTitan, tankless water heaters, water treatment, drain cleaning, sewer-camera inspections, hydro jetting, repiping, leak detection, customer financing, and whole-home plumbing evaluations is helpful.
Union Benefits and Pension
This is a union position.
Eligible employees receive health, retirement, pension, and other applicable benefits through the union plan. Eligibility, contribution levels, and specific benefit details are governed by the applicable union agreement.
Company Culture
At Hawthorne, plumbers are not treated like numbers.
We believe good plumbers deserve clear expectations, strong support, respect from management, and the opportunity to earn more based on the value they create.
Our culture is built around:
- Doing what is right for the customer
- Diagnosing problems correctly
- Communicating honestly
- Supporting one another
- Taking responsibility for results
- Recognizing strong performance
- Maintaining high technical and customer-service standards
- Building long-term careers rather than filling short-term positions
We want plumbers who take pride in their work and want to grow with a company that values skilled tradespeople.
The Right Fit
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Want your earnings to reflect your performance
- Take pride in accurate diagnosis and quality workmanship
- Can explain options without using pressure or scare tactics
- Are comfortable discussing pricing and value
- Complete thorough notes and documentation
- Treat customers and coworkers with respect
- Want union benefits and pension contributions
- Want a stable, long-term position
- Are dependable, organized, and accountable
This position may not be a good fit if you require constant supervision, avoid documentation, are uncomfortable communicating with customers, or do not want compensation tied partly to performance.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Seasonal overtime may be available
- Occasional Saturdays may be required
- Participation in an after-hours or on-call rotation is required
Compensation
Estimated annual earnings: $75,000–$125,000+
Compensation structure: Hourly pay plus performance-based compensation and bonus opportunities
