Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, processing, compliance, servicing, and risk management functions related to deposit accounts and payment operations within the bank, inclusive of Deposit Operation and Core Processing Operations. This role ensures efficient processing, operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and exceptional internal and external customer service while supporting the bank’s strategic objectives.
The position manages core processing & deposit operations staff and works closely with Retail Banking, Treasury Management, Compliance, Information Security, Finance, and Technology teams to maintain secure and efficient banking operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily deposit operations activities including:
- ACH processing
- Check processing and returns
- Exception item processing
- Debit card operations
- Remote deposit capture
- Positive pay services
- ATM settlement and balancing
- Account maintenance and documentation review
- NSF/overdraft processing
- Fraud monitoring and mitigation
- Reclamations and research
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all operational functions.
- Develop, document, and maintain operational procedures and controls.
- Monitor operational metrics, service levels, and productivity standards.
- Other duties as assigned
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations and operating rules including:
- NACHA Rules
- Regulation CC
- Regulation E
- BSA/AML requirements
- UCC requirements
- OFAC requirements
- FDIC regulations
- Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to deposit operations.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning for operations functions.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop deposit operations personnel.
- Establish performance expectations and conduct performance evaluations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, collaboration, and customer service.
- Support employee cross-training and succession planning initiatives.
Customer & Internal Support
- Serve as an escalation point for complex operational and customer issues.
- Partner with branch staff and business banking teams to resolve deposit-related issues.
- Support commercial and treasury management product servicing.
- Maintain strong relationships with core processors, vendors, and correspondent banking partners.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and automation.
- Participate in system upgrades, product implementations, and operational conversions.
- Assist in evaluating emerging payment technologies and operational solutions.
- Support digital banking and electronic payment initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of banking operations experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Community bank experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with ACH, wire operations, deposit compliance, and fraud management required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred.
- National Check Professional (NCP) certification preferred.
- Experience with Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS, or other core banking platforms preferred.
- Experience supporting commercial banking operations and treasury services preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
