Detailed Position Summary:

The Mental Health Group Practice Manager at Psychotherapy Care Center is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the operational, administrative, and financial health of our multi-payer practice. Operating at the intersection of healthcare administration and community service, the Practice Manager ensures that our day-to-day operations run seamlessly, allowing our clinical team to focus entirely on client care.In this role, you will manage the administrative lifecycle of both our clients and our staff. You will oversee client intake, scheduling, and front-of-house operations, ensuring a warm, efficient, and barrier-free entry point for individuals seeking services.

A primary focus of this position is navigating the complexities of New Jersey’s insurance systems; you will manage billing workflows, claims submissions, and credentialing processes for Medicaid, Medicare, and diverse commercial networks, ensuring compliance and minimizing claim rejections.

Additionally, the Practice Manager partners directly with the Clinical Director to manage the recruitment pipeline, hiring, and onboarding of both administrative support and counseling staff. You will lead operational responses to complex community-level challenges, optimizing scheduling and resource allocation to accommodate high-needs populations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can balance financial sustainability with a mission-driven approach to community mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day administrative functions, including scheduling, client intake processes, and office workflow optimization.
Hiring & Onboarding: Partner with the Clinical Director to manage the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding pipeline for administrative and counseling staff.
Billing & Financial Oversight: Manage billing workflows, claims submissions, and credentialing processes for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance networks.
Staff Management: Supervise administrative support staff and foster a collaborative, efficient, and positive workplace culture.
Community & Crisis Management: Coordinate operational responses to complex community issues, ensuring clients are seamlessly connected to care and administrative barriers are minimized.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of practice management or healthcare administration experience (mental/behavioral health setting preferred).
Proven track record of hiring and onboarding administrative and counseling personnel.
Experience managing operations within the New Jersey mental health system.
Insurance Expertise: Strong working knowledge of credentialing, billing, and compliance for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated supervisory experience with excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
Software Proficiency: Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.

Location:

Union City, New Jersey and/or Jersey City, NJ

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
