Full Job Description

Our client, a national corporation in the communications industry, is seeking a Temporary Legal Consultant for their Criminal Response Team. The hours will include weekends and late night. Suitable candidates need to be prepared to work all shifts.

The role requires 4 weeks of mandatory training, Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM onsite at the client's location. (After the 4-week training, once the sponsor feels the new hire can work well independently, they will discuss hybrid). The hybrid schedule after training will most likely be 2 days a week from home 3 in the office.

Pay Rate: $25/hour

To be considered, candidates must have the ability to apply for Government Clearance.

The Legal Consultant works with Court Order Compliance group support:

Work within the Criminal Response Team. Please note this is a high-volume environment. Confidentiality and attention to detail are a must. We are looking for a person that can work independently and be able to problem-solve issues using sound judgement.
Communicate with the law enforcement community in regards to life threatening situations 24x7x365 by answering calls, authenticating the caller in order to provide law enforcement with the customer records needed for the high priority emergent matters.
Demonstrate a keen ability to multi-task while still making sound decisions under high pressure situations, life and death situations.
Ensure that all cases are correctly documented and managed end to end in compliance with all applicable laws and company procedures. This includes validating, logging and responding to all subpoenas, court orders and search warrants served upon the company for customer records.
Demonstrate sound decision making and understanding of when a matter needs to be escalated /referred to management to achieve the best possible outcome for all parties.
Manage workload effectively to complete high priority task with compliance guidelines.
An understanding of and willingness to learn about basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
Enter customer and account data from source documents within time limits by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes. This includes a combination of data entry of legal process into our workflow management system and handling calls.
Strong customer service or dispatch like experience for handling high call volumes of a dynamic nature.
Review data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output
Proficient typing and transcription
Computer and technical skills
Paralegal Certificate a plus
Legal background, education or experience preferred
